Lemon was raised in a convent school after her parents were killed in an accident when she was six. Her journalist-turned-newspaper-tycoon father left her a small fortune and a penchant for long words, and her mother left her a tongue like a barbed whip. When the nun teaching English to the convent girls left for another convent, Lemon was drafted to teach English until another teacher could be found. When what appeard to be a wounded Chinaman fell from the sky into her cabbage patch seeking sanctuary and a place to rest, Lemon’s rather dull life took a sharp turn to the interesting side. When the man, calling himself Nil, told her that he had been wounded by an enemy that she could help vanquish, Lemon leapt at the chance to get out of the course that she had been set on. Since then, she has trained with the man Nil, unleashing her own strange and mystic powers.

Nil would like you to believe that he has ultimate power over the universe. However, this is simply not true. He is, in fact, one of the lesser masters of the universe, still in his “training” phase due to the fact that his original training master and training partner defected to the side of Scurvy. While he has mostly autonomous powers within the realms that he governs, he still has to answer to the Council for his mistakes. He has been fighting Scurvy for many years now. He discovered miss Lemon MacBride in an obscure Northern American convent school when he came hurtling out of the sky and landed in her cabbages. While recovering from a near-fatal wound delivered by the Scurvinator, he gained her trust, later convincing her to help him.

Origin: Far away…In Russia
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue

A Vampire and Necromancer, Lan is far older than he seems. Not much is known of his past, or of his real reasons for searching for the Dragonstaff. The one thing that we can be sure of is that Lan will ask questions.

Miss Toshiko McDeuce
~The Fairy~

Origin: Not here.
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue

While it may look it, Toshi does not, in fact, wear a cloak or cape. Instead, she has learned to wear her gossamer wings in a way that does not arouse suspicion. She is the daughter of a very high-up member of the Council of Masters, as well as someone very important in fairyland. And she’s Nil’s Girlfriend. But that’s beside the point.

For someone who claims to come from France, Listra speaks with surprisingly little French accent. An avid violist and Tolkien addict, Listra can often be heard going on quiet rants about “Back in my day”, which can lead one to believe that she’s not revealing everything about herself. Listra carries a strange bag with her everywhere, often pulling out of it more stuff than is strictly physically possible.

Toshiko’s mostly-magic-less twin sister, Dot is perfectly content to run a tavern, providing good ale, good food, and good company. Her tavern is a designated “Safe House” and neutral territory, providing a safe ground to take wounded and hounded Masters of the Universe and their friends, as well as anyone else who needs help. While Dot would never join the side of Scurvy, she would not be above giving Nathanial Surry a bandage and a glass of Absinthe if he walked in her doors with a hurt arm and a story to tell.

These little fellas (Or gals, hell, we’re not sure) show up whenever Nil sighs. We honestly have no idea why, and neither do they. We think that it has something to do with Nil’s true origins.
They made sense in Antarctica. Not in Dot’s place.

Nathanial Surry
~The Villain~

Gender: Male
Origin: Eh…. Will ‘Rural France’ satisfy you?
Hair: Platinum Blond
Eyes: Dark Brown

Often either dour and somber or joking and flirtatious, Nathanial Surry is one of Arborvill’s football heroes, as well as being the incarnation of Scurvy. For all this status, Nate is happier in a fencing tunic and knickers than shoulder pads and a helmet. He once described his job on the team as “Waiting till someone gives me the ball then running”. Nate seems to show a strange and inexplicable attraction toward Lemon, whom he alone among those at Arborvill calls “Olivia” or “Liv” rather than the name that the nuns at the convent called her. How he knows this name he will not reveal. Though outwardly either emotionless or painfully chipper, it is not uncommon to hear Nathanial waking from a screaming nightmare, often with a shout of “He can’t swim”.
